Hi all!!!

Pretty new to saltwater tanks. I've had mine setup since April now. 40 gallons.
Someone was selling their setup/supplies/fish on Facebook market place and surprisingly, everything is still going strong!!
Anyways the filter he gave me is the one from corallife with the built in protein skimmer. I'm looking to upgrade the protein skimmer. I currently have two filters running on the tank as well. I attached a picture for reference

Any reccomendations for a decent protein skimmer at a decent price? Is amazon a good place to buy? Bulk Reef supply? I appreciate any advice

if i were going to do a HOB protein skimmer from what i have seen on the market, i would go with a reef octopus or tunze DOC. If you are running a reef tank i would select a skimmer that can do a medium or heavy bioload. I sized my skimmer in the past by getting one with the highest rating at 2x my tank volume. They dont make the remora any more which was a workhorse... the skimmer is definitely a piece of equipment where you get what you pay for.

Thank you!!! Do you have an sites you reccommend I buy from?
