Protein Skimmers

Help, I need suggestions on protein skimmers for a 75 gallon reef and fish system. I would prefer it to be a hang on system, or at least come complete. I am not looking to plumb and run alot of extra systems. Any suggestion on the good and bad ones?

i use a aqua c remora with a mag 3 i love it

I have alot of good comments on the Aqua C Remora, but most people end up changing the pump. Any thoughts on that?

the better the pump the better it works :) a mj1200 is fine but a mag 3 is tops

I would say get the Octopus bf800, it is a lot better skimmer than the remora.

I ran an AquaC Remora with the maxi-jet 1200 for over 5 years and loved it!

The Warner Marine HX2 is suppose to be a really nice skimmer.

i would have to disagree IMO its not worth teh considerable price difference

also any skimmer that doubles as a filter is a complete waste of money

We have a octopus HOB running in the store, rated for 130g and it is amazing, especially for the price (300 i think.) In fact, it ran the 500g system solo while our MRC was down.
