Would like to run my air intake to outside. But how do u keep the intake from sucking in dirt grass and so forth. My house is locked up tight during winter with furnace running and in summer. We have ac running. So. Windows r open maybe two months a year.

Most powerheads come with an air induction tube and filter.....you could repurpose one of those.

Like ths Rio part:

Or build similar.

What size is your plumbing/tubing going to be to the outside?

I'm confused, you're running the intake hose outside? What's the benefit of that? I am intrigued!

Cause I live in New York. The house is closed up like 10 months out of the year. So it's stall air. And carbon monoxide So my ph is always low. If u run the intake outside where there is fresh oxygen. And a lot of it. It helps to maintain your ph. Plus. Put lots of oxygen in water. Gas exchange.

Reef Octopus. The 10 inch one. The intake tube is 5/16. I bought 5 feet from their website. 1.50 a foot. Coralvue.com. Thinking of. Just putting the muffler outside and filling with cotton balls. And changing every month

Probably too big for powerhead parts, but check any you might have anyway. ;)

Can't be too much restriction or the skimmer won't draw air well, so just be prepared to experiment! :)
