I have the same issue, covering my glass within 3 hours! Let me know if you find any info, struggling!Has anyone had any luck treating prymnesium parvum algae? I scoped a sample and that is what it is. I can’t find any info related to treating it in a saltwater aquarium. Thanks
Have you managed to treat or fund out anymore on this?Has anyone had any luck treating prymnesium parvum algae? I scoped a sample and that is what it is. I can’t find any info related to treating it in a saltwater aquarium. Thanks
No I haven’t. I ended up tearing down the aquarium.Have you managed to treat or fund out anymore on this?
Any update on your battle with prymnesium parvum?I don't have that many corals in my tank right now so I decided to start dosing vibrant so far it has slowed the growth on my glass and pumps.
Can anyone post pics of this ?Struggling with this too. It accumulates on the water surface and the glass. Has anyone found anything that works?
Can anyone post pics of this ?
Lemme know how things go with the uv for you...still battling away here - heard of a guy who beat it out with LifeSource dosing - have just done a second dose - not optimistic but maybeInterestingly, I just found out that I have Prymnesium parvum as well. The symptoms, including snail deaths, clam deaths, corals mad, water params fine, presence of diatom-like dust on sand, glass, rocks, smelly smell, all check out. The pics from under my microscope also confirm.
At this point, I guess I will try UV and GAC. If that doesn't work in a month or so, I will probably restart the tank.

Yeah, we will see. It's interesting that you aren't having any negative impacts from these things. My corals are sort of opening up now after almost two months of being closed up. Hopefully things continue to improve. It's also interesting that you have only found yours on the sand bed. I have looked at scrapings from algae on the glass and it is full of these things, though they *might* not really be very alive on the glass. They don't move much.Lemme know how things go with the uv for you...still battling away here - heard of a guy who beat it out with LifeSource dosing - have just done a second dose - not optimistic but maybe
I have seen the same in terms of movers and non-movers in the sand bed...trying to figure out their "life cycle" not sure if the non-movers are cyst stage or dead stage...I do have a small pocket of it on my glass but not a large spot - in terms of corals the only thing I can note is zoas some days half will close up and re-open the next so not certain the PP's are to blame - the rest of my tank - mixed sps and lps are fine and actually thriving - all fish and inverts are good as well...I should have recent ICP results back at the end of the week or early next so will see if anything crazy off there .... will def keep the thread here posted...good luck on your endYeah, we will see. I have done two doses of AF LifeSource already. It might be part of why my corals are opening back up, but maybe not.
