I'm not sure whether I have a peculiar specimen or not, but my ruby mithrax has been consuming some sparse populations of colonial and digitate hydroids that were initially causing me some concern. It doesn't necessarily seek them out, but after he treads through an area there are none left. Definitely the MVP of my CUC right now. Figured it was worth putting out there for other people that may be interested in predatory solutions to hydroid problems. Maybe he's trying to make up for the fact that he won't touch my bubble algae :p

I think they eat or more probably just tear apart anything they pass. I have a beautiful ruby Mithrax that picked at anything around him including taking a big chunk out of my clam so into the sump he went. Sad too because he just glows in my tank
