Valida's don't grow like that, I bet your ID is wrong.

Maybe it is maybe it isnt. Really hard o tell when grown in captivity. Here is an older side shot to show another view:

I can see that. You would have to see it in person to get the size right but the corallites are much closer together than a lokani and their is not as much smooth space. Thanks for the help!

Very nice.
Was thinking it's not a valida as well.
I notice some difference in shape as it grows which makes it difficult to ID.
Regardless amazing coral.
