Hi all,

I've had this xenia for about 3 months now I think and it's always been quite big and full of presence.
Over the course of the last week I've noticed it seemed to be retracting a bit and this afternoon it looks quite retracted and all the polyps closed up into little fists.

I did my testing last night and nothing seems to be greatly different from normal so I'm not exactly sure what's going on with it. The only thing I can think of is the tank's been running a bit warmer than usual by 1-2 degrees (celcius) Usually sits around 25, but has been climbing as far as 26.9ish.
Results as below;

Temp - 25.9
pH - 8.1
Nitrate - 18
Phos - 0.126
Salinity - 1.025
Alk - 9
Calcium - 425
Mag - 1305

Any advice?

This is when I first got it

This is several weeks ago, you can see how big and happy it was despite FTS.

Personally, I would just leave it alone, leather corals can get moody for several days at a time. If everything else in the tank is ok, and nothing has changed, then don't panic and just wait.

Ok thanks, other things in the tank look normal so fingers crossed it just bounces back

Noticed in the early hours of the morning before the lights came on that the xenia seems to be open (not as open or large and fluffy as original though) and pulsing a bit more normally compared to the tight fists.

Perhaps I'll need to relocate it lower in the tank in case it's suddenly decided it doesn't like the lighting or the direct flow anymore.

New tank should be up soon so may just grin and bare it for a while longer.
