I noticed yesterday that when I shut off the pump in the back portion of my Red Sea that I'm using just for what recirculating and flow, that my tank ran 1 degree cooler and did not loose as much water.

Is it normal for a pump to create that much heat, it is a Aq1700 pump from petco. Also running sicce 4.0 for return and sicce 1.5 for my reactor as well as my skimmer pump which is a Coral life skimmer 65g.

Is the Aq1700 pump not a good pump and run hot?

Every submersed pump will add heat into your water column. I bet the Sicce 4.0 and skimmer pump is adding way more then 1 degree that the Aqeon is currently.

I bet I only have it running at night now, so it stays cool during the heat of the day. I live in Arizona so it's a pain keeping it cool and don't want my chiller to run 24/7
