I have this Biocube 16 in my bedroom, used to be my main tank many years ago. Now it’s just a quarantine/extra tank with a bunch of stuff I don’t know where to put, including a 2.5” Purple Reef Lobster.

I understand it’s a case-by-case basis but are these things really as savage and bloodthirsty as everyone makes it sound ? From what I’ve read absolutely anything that moves this thing will decimate. Can anyone share their experience? I had a clown pair in here for about a month with him and I never saw him, but it wasn’t a long period of time. He did kill a pistol shrimp but not sure who was the aggressor there

Do you have the species name: Purple Reef Lobster means little to me. Where did it come from?

I doubt that any “lobster” is reef safe!

I believe it’s referred to as “Debelius Reef Lobster”
I got it from a family owned lfs in town.

I would not want that in my mixed reef tank. Glad you have one.

Purple Orange Debelius Lobster (Enoplomentopus debelius ...

The Debelius' Reef Lobster (Enoplometopus debelius) typically reaches a mature size of about 5 inches (12.7 cm), though they can sometimes grow slightly larger, up to 5 inches or a bit more.

Lol me neither , I don’t plan on adding it to the main tank I was just curious if anyone has kept say a damsel or clown pair with one for a long time and had success

It would be a success if fish were wary enough not to be caught.
