Hello there peeps,

I first noticed it on the power cord right in front of the filter outlet up top, now it seems to be crusting on the back of the aquarium glass. It's a crust in some areas and furry patches in other areas. Looks like coraline algae. Is this desirable or should I be worried? I read up on it and it says it's a sign of a stable reef system.

Thoughts? I'll be able to get pics tomorrow, lights off now unfortunately.

coralline algae is good and like you mentioned a sign of a tank becoming more established :) Would love to see the furry patches you are referring to as well! -Raven

I actually have some furry patches to in the middle of all the coraline patches forming on the back glass. I thought maybe these were areas where my urchins have been munching.

It looks like little tiny specks of vein growths. They are hot pink in color. And then there's calcification the hard patches in some areas as well, also pink.

These are the 3 types I see in my tank right now besides the little bits of green algae that grow.

Not sure about the spot on the sand probably cyano but the glass and rocks is coraline. Your glass patches look like mine with some having fury patches in the middle. I'm guessing that is just coraline battling with another algae on the glass to see who will take over.

I have nothing on my sand my diamond goby makes sure of that lol. Those are pics I pulled off of Google that match what is in my tank.
