Purple tang jerks

I dont know why my purple tang is not eating well. She is in my tank for last 9 months n now fron 5 days she is not eating well. She takes jerks when I give food n takes out debris from her body. There is no physical damage on her body. Pls help me out. One year back, it happened with my yellow tang n at last she died.

Tangs are not strictly vegetarians.

If you were stateside I Would of recommended Herbivore Frenzy. However, since you are in dubai. Why dont you try some fresh shrimp cut up into smalls pieces, soak the seaweed sheets in the juice from that.

I just brought home a purple tang just to nurse back to health to move along to a nice home. I have him eating right away. Surgeonfish IMO are real hardy. Keep fresh seaweed available as soon as possible and change of the types.

no they are not strictly vegetarians, but its a main part of the diet and is a way to curb their aggression

Good to hear! Change of the types of sheets you give too for a nice variety. Green, purple, red.
