Hi all, first post so here goes....I'm attempting my first pvc plumbing of a 240 with refugium, sump, algae scrubber and denitraor. I'm looking for opinions or objections to my layout pictured..please advise. The flow is from the top right to the left then down to the return line going up to the tank. Green bar separates refugium from sump.

Welcome... congrats on your first post, too.

With the photo oriented that way, I’m a little lost. Maybe add a hand drawing, labeled as well; post a picture of your drawing. Unless it’s just me being a tad confused (?) Best wishes going forward.

Looks like your using a metal adaptor, maybe brass?
I don’t use any metal anywhere in my system.

I don’t see any gate valves for overflows.

Welcome and have fun

Let me show you what I used on my last tank, it may help make my suggestions clearer.

The red knob is a gate valve that controls the flow back to th display. There’s a barometer fitting to a GFO reactor and a threaded adapter that my refugium inlet threaded into on the right.

By using a Tee, I kept the majority of the flow going to the display and used valves on the other two outlets to control things. Having the refugium outlet on the end of the run ensured I didn’t have a dead spot in the plumbing.

So, add a tee to yours, upgrade to good valves and minimize plumbing length.

The sump is already plumbed with two overflow inlets..I'm then running everything from the return pump as pictured.

I would eliminate the 180 and just put a tee in where it goes up to your tank. What kind of pump are you using?

I would also upsize the manifold pipe size

Jaebo 5000...ok, the reason I added the top pvc run was because I needed a return from everything to tank. My my return to tank and my return pump are on the same side (right side in pic)
