I have Whitlam Select Unyte thread sealing compound containing PTFE. It says it can be used for potable water. I was going plumb my return line and use this on the threaded joints. Think it should be ok?

I recommend LaCo PVC thread lubricant sticks.

I have used the Plastic Joint sticks since 1983 and some original joints on my outdoor pool pump are still soft and pliable. The Slik Tite stick is lifted as food safe too.
If yours has a ANSI/NSF seal on it it should be safe.

It does have an NSF seal on it. That means it's safe?
