Pygmy Roosterfish Question

I considered it at the store but it seemed too big for him at this size (he’s less than 2 inches right now). I had tried similarly sized shrimp I use for my fw fish and he couldn’t seem to figure out how to eat it, and eventually gave up.
I can revisit that once he gets bigger though.

You are going to mince up most foods you feed, personally I do not recommend krill. Krill has a high amount of thiaminese which binds vit B1, this nutritional deficiency can prove deadly within just several months. While including in a balanced diet with an appropriate value of vitamin B1 can be ok, it can still be a risk as scorpaenidae seem to be especially sensitive. Many fall into a trap as krill seems to be an easily accepted food for most predators and hobbyist get lazy and tend to feed this food too often.

Are bloodworms any good? Or should they be left as an occasional treat? How about blackworms?
I think I’ve had him on mainly live for long enough that he isn’t a fan of whatever I put in unless it “looks” like food.

Also would freeze dried be acceptable or is live/frozen preferable?

For some reason, ghost shrimps have been impossible to find by me.
My neocardina (cherry shrimp) breed like crazy though. Are they an acceptable food source for the scorp? I know it’s a fw shrimp, but technically so are ghosts.
