I'm going to set up a new 29L Q tank. I have a new 90 gallon tank that it will support. Are you guys establishing bacteria in your QT or are you just setting it up in a temporary fashion and doing lot of water changes and going dry between uses?

Depends on how long you plan on running the tank and what types of medications you plan on using (if any). You can still let it go dry between uses by keeping some filter material in your sump, pulling it out when needed to be used in a QT tank. If you are medicating the QT tank to the point that it kills beneficial bacteria, then you will be forced to just do frequent water changes.
