Hey all, I am in the process of setting up a refugium and all I have left to do is buy the chaeto algae. I also recently went through an ich breakout in my tank so I'm worried that if I buy chaeto from a LFS or something that it will bring ich back or some other unwanted pest with it. Anyone know how to quarantine this stuff? Or is there some kind of dip I could do? Thanks in advance :)

Only way to effectively quarantine it for ich or velvet would be to run it in a fishless tank for 76 days. I believe @HotRocks is currently doing this on his coral quarantine tank with some chaeto that was known to be in a system with velvet. (don't ask me how I know that ;) )

Personal opinion based on my experiences i would not buy chaeto from a source that i couldnt see their tank or trust their product like algae barn. I really dislike bubble algae and no qt period is going to remove the ability for it to hitchhike.
