Querstion about Ultra Marine Bakto Blend & Bakto Therapie

I had to reboot my tank over the winter, I had a large outbreak of itch so I moved my corals (LPS), snails, crabs to my 30 gal QT while I treated all my fish with copper and then low salinity. Fish are all good and I removed all the copper and started to add my corals back to the DT. My sand bed has been very brown so are the rocks. My no3 is around 15ppm and po4 0.09, alk 144, Ca 440 and Mag 1400. I clean the sand on every water change but a few days late it's all brown again. I do have a diamond goby, snails and Sea Cucumber, Tiger Tail.

I am dosing:- Vibrant Liquid Aquarium Cleaner Ingredients -

95% Cultured Bacteria Blend
1% Amino Acids (Aspartic Acid)
0.5% Vinegar - This is used as the preservative
3.5% Other Ingredients (RO/DI Water)

I just stoped using Vibrant this week and just did a water change this evening.

Should I turn off my GFO and carbon reactor when using Ultra Marine Bakto Blend & Bakto Therapie?

Hi,

No need to shut down your GFO and Carbon reactor.

Have you identified that you are in fact dealing with algae and not dino? If so, dose Bacto Blend/Therapy first by following the initial dosage instructions, then follow the regular dose instructions.

I believe it is Algae. I have no slime or bubbles. The rocks are dark brown almost black. I will send pictures when I get home from home.

Pictures of my rock. I just started to add 3ml/26gals of Bakto Blend and 2ml/26gals of Bake Therapy to my 150 gal tanks.

Do I add 3ml/26gals of Bakto Blend and 2ml/26gals of Bake Therapy for 3 days in a row then dose only 1 time a week?

My levels are the following:

ALk 162ppm, Ca 450, Mg 1420, Po4 0.10 and No3 7.

Yes, follow the initial dose first, then use the regular dose amount.

The sandbed looks okay to me. What type of lighting are you running? How many hours do you run them every day?
