When installing baffles I notice they will not sit flush since the tanks original silicone raises edges of baffle. Am I supposed to cut this out to fit baffle flush then silicone? Or silicone right over it? Seems like it'd be hard to make perfectly straight with it there.

Yes just use a razor blade and scrap/slice/cut the old silicone out. Place new baffle where you want it and re-silicone it in. Easy peasy :p

Good to hear. Do some just silicone in place without cutting? Or is that abnormal?

Not from old baffles. I mean the actual silicone holding the aquarium bottom together.

i just pressed it far as it would go and used a good amount to cover the very small gap on the bottom part of the tank.

fyi.if you spit on your finger it will keep silicon from sticking to it and make it easier to wipe off. kinda gross but it works.
