Question: Adding Multiple Yellow Tangs

Yellow is such a rare color when it comes
to Reefing esp w corals so yeah if I could add more I would also like the odd number so three more would b nice to see if u have the room.

I have an '01 I love the

Mine was 03 anniversary. Had to sell as i and daughter bought new vehicles and we wanted none of the cars parked outside. Since I was a workaholic and rarely had a chance to enjoy it- Had 3 people that wanted it.

hopefully, in about a month, I will be putting 4 yellow tangs, a regal, flame, and kole in my 12 foot tank.

I don't think there will be much of an aggression issue. They are currently in 3 different tanks but all are right about the same size.

Anyone else with input on multiple (3) yellow tangs in a 4' 120 gallon. I was planning on just one Biota yellow tang, but unlike some folks in this thread, I really like yellow (and will have a lot of yellow in my lighting so they will pop well) and like yellow tangs in particular. There would be no other tangs in that instance.

I assume since they start so small and come from groups, they will be fine for at least a while and would have time to deal with rising aggression if it comes about.

I've seen 2 done in a 3ft reef with no issues. Don't think 3 in a 4' 120 would be any issue at all...especially starting out young together.

We've had tons of customers with multiple without issue as they grow. They'll likely show a little aggresssion at the start in the new environment but settle down quickly. In our 300G office tank we had 3 for about 1.5 years but added a 4th around 4 months ago that was much smaller using an acclimation box and they all behave

I'd say 3 in 120 gallons is the limit though. Do not proceed to 4. And do not mix with a larger tang.

Have 2 yellows, a scopas, and a sailfin in 230 gallons right now; all have gotten along since they ganged up and killed the angel.
