So I notice that I get brown looking stuff that grows on the glass during the day. It is strange since some days it grows overnight and it is not terrible to clean but then other times it will take a week to appear on the glass and I am not sure what the difference might be. My question is do you know if the brown stuff is diatoms or is it algae? It definitely releases air bubbles. My nitrates and phosphates are in line at around 5 for nitrates around 0.1 for Phosphates but it just seems to randomly appear sooner some days vs others. Also I thought about lowering some of the Whites, Reds, & Greens or almost entirely eliminating them. (I have an AI Prime). Are there certain corals that need those types of lights or is it totally okay to remove those colors from the lights. The reds and greens are only around 5% and do not run for more than 4-5 hours. The whites are around 10-15% and only run for around 7 hours ramping up and down. Thanks for your help!

I'm guessing it likely is just diatoms but I was not sure if they grow on the glass.

Brown algae with bubbles sounds like dino's. Can you post a picture?

This is actually from my office tank but it is definitely the same as this. My sand is a bright white with no issues at home. Just on some rocks there is a bit of what I thought may be hair algae or diatoms as the tank is still less than a year old. My main concern is the glass as some times even if the nutrients are stable it grows very quickly like within a day and other times it takes a week. The sand is dirty in my office tank though.

When I get home I will take photos there.
