I just recently changed lights on my tank from a super super old MH to a quad t5 fixture. I know that I don't want to burn up everything with the new light. I was gonna start at on for 4 hours a day. Was wondering if anyone had suggestions on what kind of schedule I should do. The light is a 36" with the option to turn off or on half the light.

It was a fixture with 2 bulbs. The bulbs were the kind that plug in both sides not sure what you would call them. I have a mixed reef mostly soft stuff a few sps

You should not have any Issues acclimating your tank to these lights. The mh being 2 years old are probably still a little stronger than the t-5's Just increase every week and you should be fine.
