Hello R2R members,

I have a question regarding the Tunze Osmolator Nano 3 ATO and hopefully someone might have an answer for it.

I'm looking to buy this ATO for my nano tank and planning on pairing it with the 5 gallons plastic containers as seen in this thread. I have an older model and it used a round older pump style and it fits the container opening. However the new Nano 3 uses a new pump style, as seen in the picture, so I don't know if it can fit the opening of the 5 gallons container with the opening diameter around 2.25 inches.

Does anyone own this ATO and can confirm if it will fit?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Not sure if this helps but, I have the new pump model and the Redsea 5gl ATO. The pump did not fit with the hose attached. The connector is push on with some ingenuity I managed to make it work. That said I think the opening on my Redsea is very close to the five gl jug in the picture.

We generally try to discourage using jugs, they make a lot of troubleshooting headaches as you cannot access the pump easily. Keep in mind, you can generally find buckets for free and they make life a lot easier.

Out of the box, it will not fit, we do make a part to accomodate this if you just have to have a jug but the hose fitting is less secure-

I just ran into this problem with my 4.8 gallon Red Sea Reef Can. In your opinion, how much less secure is it? I can’t get a refund from my LFS on the Reef Can, which they swore would accommodate my Tunze Nano ATO

It is just a push in hose fitting, it is not locked in, realistically in most cases the hose comes off and water just is spraying in the jug, but it is less secure than the push lock standard fitting.
