questions about dosing phosban

So I have a high-nutrient tank, and I've been dosing nopox but it does not keep the phosphates down, phosphates are .90
I just bought some ,Phosban which is ( synthetic ferric oxide hydroxide), recommended dosage is 50 grams per 50 gallons, but can be used at 5 times its dosage.
Does anyone have any dosing recommendations for this.
tested with Hanna.

What is your nitrate at? Also, phosphates can be bound in the rockwork and may take some time to start coming down.

Are you doing water changes? How heavy are you feeding your tank? I'm trying to figure out why your nutrients are that high. I keep my NO3 and PO4 around 10 and .06-.10 but I have to dose to keep them there

I have a predator reef tank. and do weekly water changes, so I'm shooting myself in the foot here, but Im okay with the challenge. i have to feed about 2 silversides every 3 days and some krill.

i used to do chemipure media bags but they never did the trick for me, or maybe just got saturated to fast, nopox actually kept everything pretty low(in my standards) 15 nitrates and .2 phos, but i had to start dosing chemiclean for cyno and i couldn't carbon dose while doing it so my nutrients shot back up.

NOPOX is carbon dosing. It's basically vodka and vinegar.

NOPOX really isn't an "export" method though. It increases bacteria that break down the N&P but you still need to pull that out of the water column. They consume the N&P but are still in the water column, once those bacteria die, they release the stored nutrients back to the water

very interesting what pulls it out, stuff like gfo? or just constant water changes? i do weekly

I mean it will lower it yes. Are you running a skimmer? How big is your tank and how many gallons are you changing each week?

65long probly 50-55 water volume i do 10g water changes weekly, and i do run a skimmer.

the bacteria growth from dosing nopox will be exported via the skimmer.
using lantanum chloride can lower phosphates most effectively, but must be used with caution as its misuse can harm livestock.

Why?

Chemipure elite just contains GFO. The other Chemipure forms do not bind phosphate from seawater, though they can bind organics that contain P.

I’d start at half or less of the recommended dosage. More damage is done lowering phosphate rapidly than from high phosphate itself.
