So I have a 5 stage BRS RO/DI system with roughly 60 psi of water pressure going into it. I added a 75 gpd membrane upgrade kit to reduce waste. Water pressure now drops to barely readable. I ordered an Aqua FX booster bump through Marine Depot and pressure now only goes up a little past 20 psi. I guess my question is that it's possible for the psi to drop that much with an added membrane and I guess I need a high flow booster pump?

Reason being that I ordered the AquaFX and not the Aquatec 8800 was it was out of stock.

You’ve got an installation issue most likely. It shouldn’t be that low pressure with the added membrane. If I were you I’d go back and look at the installation guide to review.

Edit: Pressure that low indicates the new concentrate line not flowing through the flow restrictor.

So I installed the booster after the carbon block and before the di canister. The pressure gauge is before the DI but right after the pump. The second membrane is set up per BRS's series solution.

Did the upgrade kit include a new flow restrictor? or instructions to trim your current one ?

Been plugging along nicely, have roughly 4 gallons of water after 1/2 hour of use.

Such a blonde moment. I had one of the waste lines going to the waste outlet of the second membrane instead of the inlet. Currently have the booster turned down to 68 psi. Thanks to all the responded.
There you go! Aright!

I run my setup just like yours, with the pump right into the membranes. I have the pressure set to about 90psi. If you are worried about leaks 80psi should be well within the rated specs of the components.

I would probably turn your booster up a tad around 80 orso PSI. My dual membrane setup has 85-90 PSI going into the first membrane and only 45 into the second.
