So im switching to b-ionic for dosing and trying to figure out daily dose. Reading the instructions it says dose in equal amounts and start with 1ml for every 4 gallons. Its a 120 gallon system with a 90 display. Figure about 100 gallons of water. So using the hannah checkers alk dropped in 24 hours from 8.3 to 8.2 and using the online calculators I get a daily dose of 4.46 ml. Which is no where near the recommended starting dose. For component 2 calcium I got a daily dose of 106ml which is no where near the alk dose and yet the instructions say dose in equal amounts. I am very confused. Can someone please explain?

Also there is magnesium in the b-ionic calcium. It is listed as the 3rd ingredient. Does that mean we do not need to dose the b-ionic magnesium seperate or at all?

So keep testing every day and see how it changes then adjust as needed. Will the dosing eventually level off to be the same dose for both?

At that demand level, there’s no need to test every day. Twice a week is fine. Then stretch it longer and longer. Use the exact same dose for both based on alk testing.

Ok and as far as the B-ionic magnesium goes. Is there any need to dose it? Since there is magnesium in the calcium already? Or is there not enough of it in the 2 part

I suggest dosing nothing for magnesium right now since the demand is far below 1 ppm per day. Eventually as the dose rises, I’d dose magnesium in proportion to the calcium dosed:
