I've bought a BPC Flamethrower and a crazy fox a couple months ago, just wanted to see if I've purchased the right one.

I thought that the BPC always had gold eyes. When I did buy it, it did have gold eyes but now it has green eyes.

I've started out with one eye on the crazy fox and it started to change it color as more eyes grew.

This is odd. The BPC Flamethrower only has orange eyes and you do have the same colored rim as one and the streaks of stirations appear similar to a BPC Flamethrower.

Wht kind of lights are you using?

I have heard from other reeds that when using LED's there are rare occurences when the chalice would morph to a different color.

Check with the reefer you purchased your frag from. Any chance he can trace lineage back?

I've seen only pictures of the Crazy Fox and this does not look like one to me.

You miight want to wait for other reefers to post and see what they say.

Good luck.

I'm using aquatic life t5 , 2 blue, one purple plus and a white. I'll double check with the reefer that I've purchased from on its lineage.

I run a 6 bulb aquatic life and my crazy fox is a nice purple with multicolored eyes and a green rim (same as most pictures). I know that chalices can morph under different conditions an lighting but to turn a pinkish red with orange eyes and rim is crazy. Hopefully he sold you a legit crazy fox. It is a cool piece no doubt.

Looks like a FT, Do you keep it low or in high light? And did the morphed alleged Crazy Fox start with a green rim?

I can't say for the crazy fox, but the BPC is legit. In low light and low flow it will have green eyes and in medium light medium flow it will have yellow eyes. The more you feed it, the more the green streaks will come out. It is my favorite coral!

they both look great, but the flamethrower looks at least "kinda" like a flamethrower (if you dont have lineage, u might be careful saying bpc. there are a ton of wild flamethrowers if u are unsure..), but the CF looks nothing like a CF.. maybe even better lol! :o)

Yeah, I currently have it low lighting and low current, maybe I'll see if I can move it higher. I'm waiting for a response from the reefer about lineage. The crazy fox I've received it with one bright yellow eye with a green rim. It was very odd, it just started morphing into something different.

It looks like I got my anwser from the reefer that sold it to me, he said that he gets all of his BPC flamethrowers from sexycoral. I'm still going to wait and see if I can get the color to change back to gold. I was thinking of fraging both of them but I might as well wait and see if i can get them to change color if I moved them around.

Ace863, you should frag both corals and place all 4 pieces in different parts of your aquarium.

After a few months, you should see where the chalice is happy and possibly color up nicely.

The FT looks good / correct. The CF looks different than mine and others that I have seen. Could be the lighting though. Nice chalices in any case.

Not sure if the lighting is affecting the CF since I am using T5, 2whites and 1 blue and 1 purple plus. Here is another pic of the chalice.

I'm pretty confident that that is not the craxy fox. It is still a sweet challice though.
