Quick question about overflow

Hello everyone,

I bought a used bottom drilled tank. The previous owner disconnected the pipes that go in the internal overflow. Can I just use a gasket on the inside of the tank and then tighten it? Or do I have to use silicon somewhere? I don't want any leakS :)! Wouldn't mind some leeks though.

Bulkheads that are properly installed will not leak..
