Could be an interesting test case here:

Tester: Apogee SQ120-SS

Tank: Standard AGA 55g (48" long, 18" deep)
All equipment running

Left side, DIY LED array (2x RapidLED Saltwater Aurora Pucks)
Right side, 2x Kessil A160WE

Left-side settings: Blues 88%, Colored 76%, Whites 60%, UV 75%
Right-side Settings: Color 25%, Intensity 85%

Font colors don't mean anything - just chosen for readability.

Having my Lexan lids on vs. off seemed to knock off about 10% of the reading. I should have rinsed one of them off and seen if that made a difference. Most of the measurements were actually made with the lids off, the right-side lid was on for the testing.

Nuvo 10 running an ai prime hd 10 inches above the water. I run WWCs prime schedule which is 100% blues, and violets, with green, red and white at 10% for 4 hours followed by 7 hours of just the blues and violets at 100%.

I don't have a par meter but a member over at nanoreef was kind enough to run the setting over his tank and take some readings.

Just below water surface - middle 470, edge 200
Midway below waterline - mid 245, edge 140
Bottom of tank - mid 170, edge 100

Halfway up and above I keep acros, montis, and birdsnests. Below that various Lps and below them zoas/shrooms.

I also have one side of the tank thats viewable but very shaded so I'm doing various cyphastreas and leptos there.

I wanted to help contribute with some numbers from my A360X. I have 4 of them over my 48x24x21 aquarium. As you can see the water level is pretty high to the glass, the lights are exactly 6in above the surface of the water.

I tested in 3 lighting configurations. All 3 configurations had the color set to 40% (slightly on the bluer side from 50%).
Configuration A: Intensity 100%, Violet 20%, Red 10%, Green 10%
Configuration B: Intensity 100%, Violet 0%, Red 0%, Green 0%
Configuration C: Intensity 80%, Violet 0%, Red 0%, Green 0%

100gal_360x_par.jpg

(photo is slightly cloudy, but measurements were when water was clear, and circulation pumps off)

Coral health in the photo is not indicative of the lights, as these corals have been through a lot recently in the rebuild. Personally I am very happy with the lights, they seem to provide enough power, but have a stunning look and very even distribution.

Let me know if there is any questions, hopefully this is helpful to others (I personally was curious about the intensity falloff as you move away from 100%, as well as how the other colors might impact intensity).

RedSea Reefer 250
Length 35.5"
Height 21"
Width 20"

Two Radion XR15 Gen 4
8.5" Off The Water - NOT Off the top of the rim on the tank

Flow Left On
Two MP10qWD on Back Wall
Neptune COR20 at 45%

Since flow was on I left the meter in the same location for a few seconds. I let the numbers jump around and picked the most consecutive reading.

Hello everyone and thanks for sharing.

I took par reading and i thought someone might be interested in those, excuse my fairly empty DT.

Fixture is a 36" ATI Powermodule Hybrid, running 6x 39w T5 bulbs (ATI 50/50 B+/C+) and 2x 75w LEDS max peak at 50% color bands (Violet 30%, Blue 100%, Royal Blue 100%, Whites 0%). T5s are running 100%

Fixture is hung ~8" above water line. Powerheads and return pump were on during measurement.

Tank dimensions are 47.5 x 23.5 x 20, Cadlights Artesan II 100g.

Par meter used is an Apogee SQ-510.
