Hey Kelby. Thanks man. Kenya and Botswana provided some pretty good photo opp's. I see you are putting that 7D to good use! I love those pics you posted as well. The barn shots with the ivy growing on it are very cool.

It was a stock lens - 18-55mm I think? We were in a safari jeep and I took the pic leaning over the side of the jeep a bit - about 7 ft away from him. We watched him for an hour as he tried to take over a pride of lions from a beastly male pictured below. The male put a proper beatdown on this younger male and sent him packing. We followed this guy (the closeup pic above) for another few minutes. He looked completely "gutted" from the beating. I can see it in his eyes but maybe I'm just crazy. : )

Male that provided the beatdown.....he dwarfed any other male we saw. Took this with a standard zoom lens. He was mighty ticked off and we didn't get any closer.

He rules over the pride that Disney covered in African Cats. His name is Kali in the movie. Huge pride with tons of ladies....
