Radion owners with LPS corals - assemble!

I have an IM 40 gallon running (a 170 gallon will be set up later this summer) with a Radion XR 30 G6 Pro running on a mount. Will be getting a bunch of LPS and softie frags coming in a couple of days. What settings do you use on your tanks with it? The LPS preset or AB+? And what do you recommend for acclimation? (I am not in line with the full blue light, so would balance the cool white a bit or lower the Kelvin temp. Currently I have AB+ up but Kelvin lowered to 16K.

Compared to me that is a lot of light over a 40 breeder.
I had a IM 75 before my current IM 170. On the 75 I had two Radion XR 15 G6 pros. On my 170 I have 3 of the Radion XR 15 G6 pros. Everything seems happy.

My tanks are LPS and softies with a few SPS. Mine are set at 75% for 8 hours with a ramp up and down for two hours in the AM and 2 hours in the PM.

Yeah it's definitely a lot of light for the 40. I was initially looking at the 15, but someone on here urged me to go bigger. So I did. I guess I should not be running it at 100%! Of course to acclimate I'd have to start low anyway.

What do you think about this schedule:
- 25% for the first two weeks.
- 30% weeks three+four

And increase by 5% every two weeks and see how the corals react. Or is 2 weeks too long? Not enough?

Also, to decrease some of the blue from the AB+ preset, I can either lower the Kelvin temp or increase the cool white light. I'm sure those are not the same thing even if they achieve a similar visual outlook. Changing the Kelvin number adjusts every color proportionately. I don't know if that's better than just raising the cool white a bit.

I have 3 Gen 6 XR30s over a Mariner M180. I run AB+ at 60%. Only SPS I have are a Monti cap and a Stylo. Both are at the top of the rocks. All the LPS and and Softies are mid to bottom of the tank and all is looking good.

I don’t think the XR15 would have given you enough spread for that 36” width unless you would have raised it up 6-7 additional inches, so I do think the XR30 was a better choice, just a bit of overkill.

I don’t think you will ever need to run it at more than 30-35%. I believe a 40 breeder is only 16” deep, right. My guess is that will be plenty of par long term. I think it’s reasonable to start at 20% for a week or two and then go up by 5% for week 3-4, and by then you should have an idea of how things are going.

I’m thinking back to my 75 gallon, which was 36” long X 24” front to back X 20” deep, with essentially the same output as your 1 XR 30. If I recall, I think I was at 50%, and that tank was 4” deeper than a 40 breeder.

I don’t really know enough about the effect of increasing the white lights. I have my whites and blues at equal intensities. I thought I had heard that too much white could cause some algae issues.

Yes but they are 15's not 30's. Big difference in power.
Leathers doing fine at 100% and around 250-300 par in the 15g.

I use a pair of XR15's gen 5 over my 32" wide lps tank. I also have a pair of Reef Brite XHO blues.
They are at about 85%
