Radion/T5 Hybrid

I love my G3 Radions, but I am just not seeing the level of growth I'd like.

I picked up a used 8-Bulb TEK light (which I used to own, and bought back at 1/8 the cost), cut down the reflectors and installed my Radions in between the outer 4 bulbs.

That looks AWESOME! I'll be doing something similar as soon as I can find the time to actually wire in my ballasts for the T5's. :)

I switched out the two GE 6500Ks for an ATI Fiji Pink and an ATI Blue+

I also remounted the Radions on an angle so they point slightly inward to reduce shadowing from the center brace:

I am super happy with the color

I love this light, but we are selling our house and I am upgrading to a 180 peninsula (https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/terrys-180-sps-peninsula-upgrade.218181/)

I am in the process of exploring options for the light on the new tank.

Exactly how did you mount the radions? I have this exact fixture and going to mount my hydra 26s just like this just need to figure out how to do it exactly

Did you see better growth with adding the T-5s? I'm debating selling my radions for an ATI fixture because of slow growth and shadowing.

That is a sweet set up! Although I'm not a major fan of LED yet im sure you get a great color in the tank from the combo

I did something similar with the light though. I took a MH/T5 combo fixture and gutted the MH components and replaced them with 3x Kessil A360W-es:

I built in some fans on the far sides of the Radions.
