Running 250w radiums on a m80 ballast does not overdrive the bulb as KSC mentioned. You are running it as it should be run. It will not shorten the life of the bulb.

the only radium bulbs that are over ran are the 400w radiums cuz.... to what i remember...they are made in Germany and made for 380w which is rated for their power...we run them at 400w...so they burn whiter and burn out faster from sticking 400w into a 380w bulb

I just ordered a few lumatek ballasts. They are switchable and have 250w, 275w,400w and Super Lumens. I always thought the Radiums were over driven....hmmm. I am starting off with Reeflux 20k first anyways. I just wanted the ability to go up to 400w if I need to with a 30" high tank.
