Hello I’m getting a small frag of rainbow stylo tomorrow morning. And I’m wondering where a good placement would be to start off like mid level ? I’m running 4 Ai primes over a 55 gallon. Any tips would be awesome thanks….

So my tank is just over 2 yrs old. Nitrates are 20 and phosphates are .15- .2 most of the time. Alk 8.5. Cal 430 and mag 1440
I use ab+ and acropower alternating every day. Otherwise I just feed a frozen cube and Rods original daily.
the purple stylo is about 1.5 yrs old and was just a small frag when I got it. I’ve had the rainbow maybe a month… it’s mounted below the acros to the left of the red anacropora

My purple stylo is happy around 250-300 par. I have a rainbow stylo that is at around 300 par and doing well (don't have a photo on hand). Alk and NO3 levels look good, keep PO4 around 0.03-0.08.
I would start it out mid level and gradually raise it up to prevent light shock. I don't feed anything specific - maybe some reef roids once in a while.

Beautiful tank and thank you for the advice I don’t wanna mess this up lol. I see you have nems as well. I have a few black widow nems and demons I was worried about that situation in my tank. To the middle I have my golden maxima. And the right is shrooms and zoas and flower nems. Trying to move some stuff around and make a good home for the stylo.

My rainbow stylo is about 6” under water under a hydra 32. Most important is that it gets light on all sides. Mine grew dark and dropped polyps until i put in an or3 at an angle. My milka stylo likes halfway down the tank almost directly under the hydra 32. The milka is the fastest growing coral i have and it really encrusts. The rainbow is much-much slower.

Whoaaa that’s amazing nice rastas In the back as well. Do they grow pretty quick ? Im worried about the flow I should be looking for once I get it in there.
Ty. My Nero 5 is right behind it pushing 75% pulse mode and yes it pretty fast growing. Was a nub frag like 30 months ago. Well weekend fast fro me. Lol. I’m sure others would have outside the tank already.

That is a beautiful tank love the scape. I think I’m gonna buy more stylo’s now after seeing this.Would reef roids and live phytoplankton work ? What kinda flow do you have on the stylo’s?
Thank you. I have a gyre on each end of the tank and both are set at 60% random. There’s quite a bit of flow in the tank.
