I’ve used the James Planted Tank calculator with excellent results. Recently a guy pulled this from 2017 and you recommended to multiple the required amount by 0.84 since there’s only the option for Potassium Nitrate which has a different molar mass.

The difference must be very little, because my calculations come out accurate for the volumes I’m entering. I haven’t noticed anything being off just using the regular calculations from the James calculator. I find it pretty darn close.

Do you still recommend doing this or is the difference so minimal that most wouldn’t notice it? If so can you explain it a little further how exactly to do it. Do you plug in your numbers like normal for your desired solution and then take that amount in grams, etc…and multiple by 0.84?
