Ouch bro, I am not sure! How much of the rock in your tank is it growing on?

Its on most of it now. I have tried to pic it all of but it comes back. I am getting close to throwing in the towel and setting up a frag tank to put the corals in. Im at a loss.

The problem is that even if you move all your corals out, and cook your rock/restart your tank from scratch, the corals will have small pieces of the caulerpa still attached. It can grow from almost nothing, it seems. It sure would suck to go through all that trouble and still end up in the same place..... Do you have fuge this stuff started in, or did it come in as a hitch hiker?

I hate that stuff. I have small sections here and there and am always pulling it off of rocks. I take the rocks out and pull it off with tweezers. Fortunately my infestation is relatively minor. Looks like you need to do some serious gardening or replace your rock. I've not found anything that will eat it, or even look at it. I've tried a rabbitfish and a small tang, and neither would look at it. Maybe a torch?

oh crap. I dont want to have to prune this stuff for the rest of my life. It does not hurt the corals but it does choke them out. Im thinking of setting up a Large frag tank and taking down my tank. I want to put all the live rock in a dark sump for a few months. Do you think it will all die?

The stuff in the dark will die, but the frags could easily have small pieces attached. If you choose to go this route, tweezers and a toothbrush will be your best friend. And you may have to "weed" your frags more than once. :( Sorry I don't have more encouraging words......

I dont have much on my frags now (if any) plus it will be much easier to clean it of frag plugs than the live rock. Ive done that twice and it sucks.... allot. hmmm now I have to plan a frag tank build it seams.
