RareReef review

Negative stars!

I'd rate them below one start if I could. Honestly it's baffling and almost unbelievable my experience with this company. I'm going to number my attempts at being a customer just so I can rationalize it myself.... Takes a lot for me to review a company!

1.) Starting off I attempt checking out an order through their website. Both times and two different cards come back with errors. Ok, no biggie stuff like this occasionally happens with small company's. Maybe their site is corrupted, credit card processing company is down or the like.
2.) I send an email, [email protected], kicked back from Microsoft Exchange. Problems with the emails credentials.... Still don't know what that means and should at this point been a huge red flag to RUN away.
3.) I use the Contact us feature within the site.
4.) Next morning as I'm sitting in front of my computer I get a email from [email protected] apologizing for my problems and telling me to give them credit card info and they would run the order and have it in the mail that day..... You guessed it, no response.
5.) I try emailing back throughout the day back to [email protected], nope again kicked back as bad credentials.
7) Use Contact us on their site as this has been the only source of contact with them, no answer after the approximately 2 hours of giving my credit card information out.
8.) 4 hours and another attempt with the Contact us, no answer.
9.) last attempt for the day even though at this point it's already well passed shipping. Really I was just hoping that if they did send something they'd alert me first so I could be sure to be there. Yeah, right, wishful thinking,
10.) Next day, follow up email through Contact us. Have thoroughly given up on their email address they pass out, RareReef@aol. Might as well give up on it all, as expected no answer.
11.) Few days I find them on facebook. Which brings us to yesterday. I post what's happened In its shortest most diplomatic way,"essentially I've sent numerous emails, one of which with my credit card and still no word, what's up"? This was yesterday and post can still be found unless rare reef deletes. Almost comically someone post directly below me with similar problems. Rarereef finally chimes in claiming email problems, 60 or so emails have found their way to his spam folder.... what the heck ever.
12.) at this point I'm already over these jokers. But then I get a Friend request and message from someone I don't know, Russell Goddard. Click on his name and see he's the Chief something or other of Rarereef, likely a way of saying manager! Atleast I hope, owner would scare me. Anyways, now I'm thinking ok so the Owner, Manager or whatever is reaching out more than I would have expected lets give one more chance here. His message reads, "Jesse, I never received your email". So I respond to his Facebook post with my interested order and attachment by way of copy and paste the info from my previous emails including credit card info.... What the heck, contrarily to his claims I know he already has this. .... No response.....
13.) later in the day I respond with, "?".
14.) Tonight I respond with a not so nice, "Dont't bother contacting me further, this is a joke and wouldn't dream of doing business with them".

This brings me to my final closing, RareReef, you truly are rare. After all this it occurs to me that running businesses for the past 16 years myself I've been attempting at all cost to do business with a business that has no intention of being a business's nor remaining a business....I'm absolutely with certainty sure your "Rarity" will parallel doors shuttering, bankruptcies and infamously no more RareReef. Do not contact me, I have absolutely no interest in anything you do or have forever more. I do not wish to waste anymore of my life on you or your company.

For those interested feel welcome to private message me and I will if requested provide screenshots of these communications.... Proof to the claims above.

Do yourselves a favor and move along, nothing to see here but a waste of your time.

His Facebook private messages get real colorful, threats and all... At one point he claims I'm selling him some, "ritualistic ********" for saying goodnight and godbless.....huh? Not sure if I can post them here so I'll await further clearance for those. In any event, this sums it up enough I think.

Private messages of any type cannot be posted.

The vendor feedback forum is an important forum. It gives members the opportunity to share their experiences with vendors. This being said, there are some guidelines that need to be adhered prior to posting in the vendor feedback forum.

From the Terms of Service:

Dealer/Vendor and Customer Disputes:This forum is not intended to be a mechanism for people to vent frustrations about vendors or sales from private parties. Please settle your differences with the seller, manufacturer and dealer through the long-established legal or arbitration systems or the Better Business Bureau but not through our community. Posting of emails or private messages are prohibited. This user agreement is subject to change to fit the communities best interest.

Someone has to interpret the above guidelines and how they apply to this forum. Ultimately it's up to our site administrator to make this decision. If you have any questions about these guidelines, please feel free to contact us.

This being said we encourage members to post feedback when they are dealing with vendors.

Positive Feedback Threads:

Outside comments will generally be allowed. However, they may be removed if the staff feels it is appropriate. For example, someone chiming in with their own negative experience.

Negative Feedback Threads:

Outside comments are NOT permitted. The reason for this is to allow the vendor and member work through the negative experience. The staff will remove posts by other parties not pertaining to the transaction.

Im unclear on how this differs from feedback....or if thats the reason to close the thread.
