Just set up my new 29g with a homemade 10g sump and an overflow box. Transfed from my 24g cardiff solana. Will post pictures of the new set up once the lights come on. But for now, you can enjoy the old set up!

IMG_20150912_042119131.jpg

Tank, still working on the rock work. Plan on switching out quite a bit of the current rock.
IMG_20150912_042203927.jpg

Sump, waiting on skimmer and clip on led light for fuge, will be more organized
IMG_20150912_042145454.jpg

Egg Crate top cut out tonight
IMG_20150912_042149999.jpg

All the extra egg crate, hope to make a filter sock holder, barring room after skimmer is in, and possible frag rack depending on rock work outcome

After all that I will be building a stand out of PVC to hang the light

Thanks, I originally started with a 10g with only a HOB filter and heater. I've sure come a long way

Alright, everyone, it has been too long! After deployment and moving a few times, with another move here in a few months, I have stumbled across a wonderful member of the reefing community and a great deal. I have gotten my hands on an IM 25g Lagoon and a radion xr15w! I have gotten the tank and light all set up and it is looking great! I am working to make a macro reactor as I want the parameters as stable as possible without adding and HOB equipment. Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you, I'm truly blessed to gave been able to come this far in the hobby. Constantly finding new issues and ways of doing things. With the foot print of this tank i have some more room but with the lack of a sump I need to find ways of putting all that equipment in there

So here we sit, almost a year later and boy has it been a year. This tank has been a blast and a battle ship! We have survived a hurricane, a local move (15 miles) and then a not so local move (2300 miles) from my station in NC to southern Texas without a single casualty. During the move the uhaul trailer that had the car in it with the coral, as the car is better insulated, blew a tire and axel. We had to back track and pick up a new trailer. This meant moving the corals from the front seat of the car to the uhaul so I could drive the car and the reloading everything back the way it was.temperatures dropped into the low 50 during one nap as the move took place back in November. I was certain that I had lost everything when I had woken up and realized how long it had been since the heater was run in the car. To my surprise, everything was alive! Other events took place during the trip but nothing that impacts the corals so I'll omit them, just know it was a hellish trip. Since then the tank was set up at a friend's while I moved in and then finally moved into it current spot. I had to move this tank four times withing a 2 month period....I do NOT advise this. I have been battling GHA and struggling to keep this beautiful tank afloat. I have replaced the skimmer with a fluval sea mini protein skimmer and added an inTankfilter floss holder to the other overflow. New chemipure blue will be here tomorrow along with the jbj fuge light and inTank fuge basket. Plan on placing the cheato that is sitting in the net there for better growth and hopefully outcompeting the GHA. I just put a new sand bead in yesterday and did the first FIRST water change since the move here so about 4 months....yikes, still not done with that one. I have an extra AI prime hd sitting that I still don't know if I want to add to this tank. The edges seem to be a tad dark but two of these lights seems like it would be Overkill. I am hoping that with some much needed tlc we can get her back on track. Pictures are from this morning with the light still ramping up.

Also, I did end up making the cheato reactor and it produced cheato at an alarming rate, however, other algae started to grow on the edges of the container and within the cheato itself almost suffocating the cheato. Plus the pump failed and I ended up burning a good chunk of cheato. Such is why I'm moving to the inTank basket and jbj light.

I switched from the radion as I honestly didn't like the bulky look and the unfriendly user interface. The AI prime has been an amazing light and the ease of setting it up has been wonderful. Being able to pull up an app and make changes or to start the acclimating period has been very convenient.

Everything is perking up and we're well on our way back on track. Changed the chemipure and boy was that overdue! Added the cheato to an inTank fuge basket and using the cheatomax led. Hopefully I will see some good growth. Ordered some mangroves the other day they should be in tomorrow. Started to feed the corals mysis shrimp again and they will not stop looking for more! That's all for now!
