Hi everyone! My tank has finally cycled, I've done the big water change to drop Nitrates and parameters are all where I want them soooo I'm looking for my first addition!
I will be adding corals but am going to wait until the tank matures more, so will be starting with a couple of fish first. What would you suggest be a good hearty first fish to test the waters (pun intended)?

- 38 gallon peninsula, so it's more like a breeder tank shape
- Haven't hit the Diatom stage yet so tank is still evolving
- Looking to avoid any Damsel fish due to their aggressiveness and being territorial

Wish List (knowing I won't be able to house all these fish due to my tank size)
  • Firefish
  • Royal Gramma
  • Wrasse (either a Pink Streak, Flasher or Six Line)
  • Cardinal
  • other suggestions???
Once the tank matures and I get a couple of fish added, I hope to include in the Wish List:
  • P. or O. Clown (definitely looking to add, but later to avoid territory fights)
  • Midas or Bicolor Blenny
  • Goby (once my sand has enough junk in it)
  • Saddle Valentini
  • CUC and skunk shrimp, once there is something to clean up :)

Do you have a cover? Can determine if a wrasse or gobies can go into it. They like to jump. Firefish and cardinals are the first I would put into a system. They are least aggressive to others coming in. The gramma and wrasse should be later. Maybe find the clowns and other two at the same time.
Least aggression occurs when multiples are added. Granted, I should say less aggression. Their is always some.
Gobies can be anytime as they are not usually aggressive and can hide from aggressors well.
