Yesterday I woke up to my son who is 14 upset because he found out his Best friend tried to take his own life the night before, thank you god that the fire department is right down the street and were able to get him to the hospital in time to bring him back to life.

So My son went to the local basketball hangout to play basket ball and fell and possibly broke his growth plate in his wrist per the dr.

So I decided to take the family out to dinner last night so we can have a talk about his friend and how no matter what there is always help and we are always there for the kids and there friends.

My son then gets a text from his other best friend and he found out his dad passed away earlier yesterday morning.

As a parent you always try to be there for your kids no matter what and I might not be the richest man or the smartest man, but I know that no matter what I will do what I have to make sure my kids are ok and feel safe. There is always bumps in the road per say and no matter how bad life gets there is always tomorrow.

The friend who lost his father yesterday recently told me "Mr Rich thank you for being a second dad to me", so now Im going to step up my game and make sure he is never fatherless if that makes sense.

So just remember everyday is different and you never know what tomorrow might bring, so make the best of it and always be there for others no matter what

Man so sorry to read all of this. It's awesome though that you are able to be there for people including your son. Prayers for the young friend and the others.

Thank you for the reminder... so many times we get distracted by life, that we forget what matters the most.
Work and even hobbies are secondary - and we do what we do for our families.

I really hope and pray your son finds peace, his friend find patience, and the other friend finds value in his life.

Geeze.... stay strong. That is a “test” for sure, but sounds like you are handling it great and staying involved.

Keep up the good work. People in your life come first, work and hobbies come second.

You're an amazing person with an amazing outlook and don't forget that everything will be okay in the end, and if it's not okay, then it's not the end. I always try to remember that even when times are hardest and just know that you and your family and your son's friends will be in our prayers.

The fact you care about others, puts above so many people. Praying things get better for you and those around you.

My father technically died Nov 24th while at the health club. 2 emergency room nurses were working out near by at the time. Those 2 saved my father's life. If not for them, my dad wouldn't be here to day. Angels walking among us and my heros. My dad is recovering from a quadrupal bypass today. He's doing well and on the road to recovery.

Your story reminded me of some of the stuff I put him through while growing up. He is the person I look up to the most. Not sure what life would be like if those 2 weren't there that day. I try not to think about it.

So sorry to hear all of this. Seems like there is so much bad news going around right now. I came into work this morning to find out my co-worker has leukemia.

I feel so bad for everyone going through hard times.

Well I haven't been on here much as I was dealing with some health issues, but my son's friend tried again a few weeks ago to take his life. He sent a text to my son who was in school and he ran down to the office , they called 911 and was able to get to him in time.

The friend has a really bad home setting, the mother is in and out of the mental hospital, she doesn't buy food for him, no family around here wants to help.

So I contacted his brother in New Jersey, along with Child Protective services and we were able to get the mother to sign off on him moving in with his brother.

I treat this kid like he is my own and try to do what ever I can to help him.

While dealing with this,my other son broke his wrist playing basketball,I had a heart issue and ended up in the hospital,my wife has to have some female test done and waiting on results

On top of all this,I'm on disability from my accident, have limited income but never once did I ever tell the friend he could not come stay with us even though I can't afford it.

I even went and bought groceries twice on the past few months for him since his mom wont.

Just remember that there are people out there who have it ruff and even with my life being a crazy mess lol, my wife and I took this kid in when we could and made sure he has a chance at life.

He is leaving Monday for his brothers and I pray that the future is bright for him.

On a positive note, my 2 older boys start football camp Monday and that is a big thing for them.

My daughter is starting a dance camp, my other son is living life over the summer, he is 13.

My wife and I take one day at time and for me to get thru the day I decided to pick up a biocube and I'm making a build project out of it.

I'm going to start a build thread and call it reefing on a budget lol

I am buying everything used or getting it donated, and I want to document it so I can share with others that anyone can't enjoy this hobby.

So the point of all this, is No Matter what, There is always tomorrow. Never Give Up.

Thanks for reading my email long winded post, god bless and have a wonderful day!

Man, much of this is so tough to read. I'm praying for you and the kids involved in all of this. Praying especially for healing for your son's friend. There's so much to live for, and it hurts to see someone hurting in this kind of way.
