Just picked up a used 80g tank got it back home and tried to remove the brown paper sheet that was underneath guessing it was left on from shipping, upon trying to remove the piper I have found that the neoprene mat that was underneath has fuses to my glass along the corners and edges cause bumps in some places I've tried to remove it but not having much luck, what should I do ? Leave it be and buy a new mat or try my best to get it off? Its sort of fused itself into the seems aswell which is why I don't really want to take a razor blade to it feel gutted tbh and could really do with some advice, thanks in advance.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!! Have you tried heat to remove the mat (yes, you can overdo the heat)? I would replace it if you can.

Welcome to R2R and the salty world. Lots of knowledgeable and helpful people here who will support and advise you when needed. Where in UK are you? Are you getting a UK banner? :)

Try blow dryer or WD40

How much heat lol hair dryer maybe?

As little heat as possible, but enough to remove the pad. Hopefully low to medium heat and a razor blade will do the trick. What you want to avoid is impacting the silicone in the seam.
