Hey everyone! Upgrading my 10g pico to a 29g nano to give my clown some more room. For the 10g I used Current Orbit Marine lights and while they did ok for a few softies, they just didnt cut it for the sps.

My tank dimensions are 30L, 13W and 18H. Right now I am planning on getting two 2 Kessil 160WE Tuna Blues to evenly distribute light. I think since the tank is on the long side one light is out of the question. Does anyone have any suggestions on some good LED for this size tank. I should mention I'd prefer to not have to hang any lights from the ceiling.

Thanks everyone.

Your Orbit should have been fine on the 10 Gallon but I wold look to either their Orbit IC or Pro models for the 29 Gallon. The Pro would put the most power in your hands. The plain Orbit Marine would definitely not cut it for a deeper tank.

BTW, if there's any way at all you can make it happen, suspending your lights is by far the best way to have them mounted IMO. Even if it's not from the ceiling. There's usually a way to hang them from something over the tank. Most tank mounts are functional, but look pretty clunky to me. (I own and use a Razor. I was thankful they included the hanging kit.) The flat-to-the-tank "mounted" units like the Orbits are simpler and give just about as slick of a look. Maybe slicker, depending on your perspective.

The only better way to mount lights, is maybe underwater, like Tunze's LED line. I just need an excuse to try them. ;)

I would go with the Kessil A160we Tuna Blue. I have one on a 27 gallon glass bow front and love the color spectrum and the easy adjustments for intensity and color.
