Recordia Florida split in 2?!?!?

My recordia Florida seems to have split in 2! I expected it to reproduce one day but not by splitting in half! I noticed a week ago it started to stretch out into a figure 8 shape and kinda shrunk but I didn't expect this. Does anyone else know of this happening before? Sorry I don't have a before pic.

We have had one split like that a couple of times. Yeah!

That's how all my rics have "reproduced".
My mushrooms, on the other hand, would move slightly and leave behind a baby.
