I saw a bug crawling around on my green birdsnest frag that resembled a red ant. Roughly the same size and shape as an ant with antennae too. It ran into the base of the frag and near as I can tell has not come out since. I know its pretty hard to tell without a picture. I'll see if I can take one when it comes back out. All frags were dipped in Coral RX before entering the tank and nothing fell off of them so it had to come in as an egg. Any ideas?

Amphipod

Haha thanks for the reply! Or all of them I should say. I looked at some other pictures of pods before posting and came across "Tigger pods" as they are an orangish amphipod. To my eyes it looked similar to an amphipod but had body sections like an ant. A picture will probably be necessary.

Tigger-Pods are a harpactacoid copepod- Tigriopus californicus; they are not amphipods. Tigriopus copepods are much smaller than amphipods.

You typically don't see them until the lights are off. Very fast, good cuc.
