Red Dragon 3 150 watt pump

I love your persistence. I know you mentioned RD5 being loud, that's not been my experience with the 130w Eco 5. I have 3 of them and all are silent to me and love that they are pressure rated. I'm about to be breaking down my large setup and will probably have 2 of those available if interested, but if not, no worries. Just wanted to throw it out there.
Thanks, appreciate the reply.

I think my experience with the RD5 was pretty much an error on my thinking. The RD5 pump I bought required a 2" suction line. The bulkheads on my tank were 1-1/2". I thought I could get away with changing the 1-1/2" line at the tank and having 20"+ of 2" pvc before the pump. That was not the case. The strain on the suction side created noise.

I currently have a pair of RD3 100 watt pumps ( 3100 gph ) on the system. My goal is to replace one of them ( closed loop) with RD3 150 watt ( 4000 gph) pump.
