Well after loosing 2 conchs, a scarlet hermit, and electric blue hermit and now a fire shrimp. I think I finally found the culprit. I caught my big red legged hermit picking away at what was left of my electric blue, I didn’t think anything of if at first, things die.. then my scarlet went MIA, and last week my fire shrimp was gone. I found what looked to be its malt but I have seen him in over a week. But I did find some meaty pieces floating around. And yesterday I was adding some astrea snails and some more hermits due to dwindling numbers and lo and behold my big red leg immediately starts trying to eat a snail. So I removed him and bit him in invert jail, aka the sump. Has anyone had a hermit go full blown psyco killer before? One guy told me red legs will do that but idk if it’s true or not. But I doubt anything else in my tank ate all those inverts.

Halloweens have been known to do that too. Im thinking maybe its trying to get the shell of the snail. Does it have a lot of empty shells to choose from? If not they will kill off snails for the shells.

I have a lot of extra shells in the tank, no need to fight for shells. Bunch of small all the way to large sizes. I think he just got a taste for meat. He just took the shell he has now off my dead electric blue 3 days ago. The snail he went after was smaller, it was like white on rice.
