Hi

I am currently dosing 120ml of Red Sea Foundation B liquid daily and it is starting to get expensive.
I have a 1000L tank (before rock displacement)

Red Sea state that

Liquid supplement: 1ml will raise the Alk level of 100 liters (25 gal) by 0.036 meq/l (0.1dKH)
Powder supplement: 1g will raise the Alk level of 100 liters (25 gal) 0.12 meq/l (0.33dKH)
1 kg will make 10L of stock solution.

I tried to work this out on a spreadsheet but got lost o_O

If someone is able to assist me in working out how much of the powder derived liquid I would need to dose please, that would be much appreciated.
Thankyou in advance

Watch this video from BRS that shows you how to mix the powder to be the same concentration as the liquid. This how I do it

Randy, cups & gallons? Can you translate that into grams & litres please to make this easier as this means nothing to me.
Are your measurements US legal cup or imperial cup & US liquid gallon or imperial gallon?

Alk part b: 25g of powder makes 250ml at 1/3 concentration
75g of powder makes 250ml at normal liquid concentration

50g of powder makes 500 ml at 1/3 concentration
150g of powder makes 500ml at full concentration

100g of powder makes 1 liter at 1/3 concentration
300g of powder makes 1 liter af full concentration

I didn't check if those numbers are correct, but assuming they are,
the strength of your current liquid is 0.1 dkh/100l/ml and the strength of the powder is 0.33 dkh/100l/gram

You dose 120ml so 120ml*0.1 dkh/100l/ml = 12 dkh/100l (or 1.2 dkh/1000l)

If you divide the 12dkh/100l by the strength of the powder you get 12/0.33 grams=36 grams

So 36 grams daily or however much solution has 36 grams in it. If you dissolve 1kg in 10l like they say, that would be 360 ml of that solution
