Okay so I am currently trying to get out of my 45 rimless cube and switch to something that will be a little easier to carry back and forth to school. I am currently raising funds for a "biocube" and the Red Sea Max has really caught my attention. Now the 130D only comes with power compacts if my understanding is correct. What kind of luck are people having with these cubes and different varieties of corals?

I'd really like to be able to keep SPS higher up and acans, zoas, chalices etc. lower/on the beach.

Should I look more into the Max 250 that comes with 6 t5s?

any feed back would be great. I dont have my heart set on a red sea but i'd like to have limited evaporation so i'm trying to avoid an open top aquarium.

Thanks!!

I used to have the RSM 130 model and I was able to keep mostly everything, including some SPS. My SPS did ok but did not thrive and had to change the bulbs every 6 months to keep up the intensity. It was a good starter tank then I started getting more sticks and rest is history:smile:.

Neither seem like bad suggestions, however in those price ranges i could pretty close to just afford the red sea max 250 which would be my first choice just because it's all in one.. what kind of LED fixture have people fitted into the max setup?

Its a rio...the only bad part is you have to click them on if they are set anymore than 3+ hours to be off........does that make sense?

but i dont mind because im more than happy with the results for only $20!
