Hello

I have been wondering if the reagents from the pro and non-pro kits from red sea are interchangeable? In particular the Alkalinity and Calcium tests? My pro kit reagents expired and I have replaced them using non-pro kits, which use plastic pipets for titrating the reagents and take a reading using the number of drops of titrant used (which is obviously less accurate when you have a short attention span and struggle to count the drops...)

Does anybody have any insight?

Many thanks!

The pro calcium test kit reagent a is sodium hydroxide, reagent b is sodium sulfate, reagent c is sodium hydroxide again. Not sure what reagents are in the standard kit.
The pro alkalinity test kit reagent is monoethylene glycol. The standard kit is just ethylene glycol
Don't know if they are interchangeable, but I would suspect different reagents to give different results.
My lfs has the pro reagents available.

Ahh, so the volume of liquid titrant is not equal for the different tests. Thanks!
