Can someone with a Reefer XXL 750 help me with a few measurements? :)

I am wondering what the "usable" dimensions are.

I need the measurement:

From the floor of the cabinet to the top (inside) of the cabinet

From the floor of the cabinet to the bottom of the upper door frame (in other words how tall is the opening).

And finally - from the top of your skimmer to the top (inside of the cabinet) - in other words how much room is there above your skimmer.

Thanks!

I thought I would attach some pics to show the differences. FTS first.

Next the armored corners. They are like a plastic piece added to the corner to protect the seams.

The center divider is now two boards thick.

The upgrade reinforcements are now standard. For both the centre jack and the sides.

Finally and most impressive to me the top is 1 piece instead of 3. It is thicker than before and it has a metal reinforcement in the front to aid in rigidity and so that the front pane is now supported and not hanging off the stand. (Sorry not the best pic but you can see that less of the glass from the front pain is hanging off.)

Hi Montima,

Is there a clearer picture of the center divider being two board thick? I have a new 750 xxl v3, so I was curious on this. Thanks

I also included additional pics of the V3. I believe the overflow is expanded now with two returns (I am not sure if the overflow is now glass as opposed to acrylic)

Also wanted to add that the sides and front is 3/4" glass. The bottom panel is 1" glass (I am not sure if that is a V3 upgrade.....I think it is)

I believe the new V2 has this. The new tank sure felt a lot heavier than my old V2 and the bottom is definitely thicker.

With the center brace in the new V3 stands, is it hard/impossible to switch out sumps? I was planning on setting up my tank with the stock sump, and later switching over to a custom sump.

Why is it hard to switch out a custom sump? Is it the room you have under the tank or once you have the brace on and water filled you would rather not take brace off?

I just figured once the brace is on, you probably dont want to remove it. I'm not really sure, which is why I am asking.

Sorry I mis-read your original post and thought you were making a statement as opposed to a question.

I'd imagine you could always take the support beam off to take the sump out and then re-install the support beam.

It doesn't look solid...
IDK maybe someone that has it will chime in. I do know it's metal so it thinner than wood would be for the same specs ( I believe)

the 900 has an extra cabinet = more support. also RS & WB offer al. stand maybe thats more up your alley?

you can also go custom tank with a T slot stand from farm tech or build you own. with 80/20 or the like.
good luck!
