I need one of these for the RSR 250 V3 Sump, the dual sock chamber. The other difference here is that the intake and sock chambers both have the same level dam spill way which will both have to be raised to properly flood the sock area to trigger the Klir optical sensor. The other thought here is to connect the Klir to the Apex and program it to come on frequently enough to rotate the fleece roller. If that is possible it also has pros and cons.

I am looking at getting the Klir Filter Roller for my Red Sea Reefer 250, has anyone been able to get it to work or is the ClariSea gen 2 a better option?

I wasn't able to get it work perfectly as I would have liked. I ended up cutting out some glass (the filter sock part) and plumbing the Clarisea directly to the return drain. Works perfect

I just received my Klir Di-4 yesterday. I have a MAX E-170 with the add-on sump so the drain is on the left side of the sump. Based on the requirements, the optical sensor needs at least 1.5" of depth to trigger the roller so I'm working on a 3D printed adapter.

It slides right in over the existing filter sock drawer.

Its designed to use the smaller of the 2 round addapter plates that Klir provides.

There is enough clearance for the optical sensor to face to the left, right, or rear of the sump.

Can you still make these I’ve been racking my brain to figure something out?

Is anyone able to 3d print an adapter like this for a Red Sea Reefer 170?? Has anyone designed one for that tank yet? if possible I would like to pay someone to print and make that. I have piece of glass cut but I am not sure if it will work the way I am imagining it. The circular ring for the Klir only sits onto of the glass and I am worried it will not create a good seal to make the water flow into the Klir and rise up to the 1.5 inch mark. any help would be appreciated!

Yes I did, I needed up removing all the glass around the original filter sock holder, but I left the large piece of glass on the left of the filter sock area, since that holds together the other baffles on the left side of the sump. I had two small pieces of glass cut, which I siliconed to the side of the sump so that it will act as a tray to hold the weight of the klir filter and it was a place to place the piece of glass I had made with a hole cut into it. That piece worked great, it was tricky to get it all together but it works great. And yes I know it looks kinda bad and is very messy but I don’t really care since it won’t be seen much haha here’s some pics of jt

worked on some tray solution without the need of modifying the sump. Works pretty well so far. Just take out the filter sock and tray and add the printed tray on top of the rail. You can easily change back to the socks as no modification needed. The sensor is not in the KLIR, it is in the tray, this also holds the sensor lower, so the filter will not be overloaded and function pretty well.
